Chef Felipe Armenta
The Grill - Felipe is the owner of “The Grill” in San Angelo, Texas. Locally born, Felipe began in the restaurant business at a very early age. His parents are the long-time owners of Armenta’s Café in San Angelo. It was here that Felipe gained his first exposure to the restaurant business. Felipe then went to work for the Hillstone Restaurant Group traveling the country. It was Felipe's dream to open his own kitchen & realized there was a market here in San Angelo for a chef driven restaurant. “The Grill" is the delicious result of this dream!
Chef Virginia Dalbeck
The Cork & Pig – Chef Virginia Hayes Dalbeck attended the Hotel Restaurant Culinary School in Santa Barbara, California from 2000-2003. After completing school she followed her culinary dreams to New York where she worked as a “Garde Manger Girl” at Lupa through 2004. In 2005, Dalbeck returned to Los Angeles where she competed on the second season of popular TV Reality show, Hell’s Kitchen with Chef Ramsey. She earned runner-up status on the highly competitive show and then returned to New York where she worked as a Spanish Cuisine Line Cook at Casa Mono. In 2006 she became sous chef at Palm Beach Grill in West Palm Beach. 2007 found Virginia back in her home state of California managing R+D Kitchen in Santa Monica. In 2008 Chef Dalbeck fulfilled her dream of owning her own establishment with the opening of The Grill and subsequently The Cork & Pig Tavern in 2010. Chef Dalbeck has accomplished her dream of never working a day in her life by doing what she loves to do, cooking and entertaining!
Chef Jay Lummus
SALT @ The Silo - Jay is the chef and co-owner of the Salt at the Silo House restaurant on MLK Blvd on the grounds of the Chicken Farm Art Center. In the upcoming issue of the Best Chefs America, Lummus was named one of the 250 best chefs in Texas. Lummus graduated from Central High School in 1995 and has traveled the country from Denver to Austin.
Chef Susan Ball
City Cafe & Bakery - Chef Susan Ball has been a cake decorator and instructor for 31 years and has been in the catering business for 20 years. At her current location, 108 North Pierce, Chef Ball is specializing in full service catering, wedding cakes and quality cuisine. She is well known for her distinctive presentation and professional touches. Susan has had recipes published in Southern Living magazine as well as two Southern Living Annual Cookbooks. City Cafe and Bakery was voted Best Sandwiches in the National Book of Where Locals Eat. Susan has participated annually in the Cultural Affairs Council Wine and Food Festival, Meals for the Elderly Mardi Gras and Christmas Open House, San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts openings, San Angelo Symphony fund-raisers, 4H, Angelo Civic Theatre, Emmaus and various other charitable events in the community. Susan was honored with the Business Diversity Award from the Chamber of Commerce. Susan offers Elegant Affairs Special Occasion Rentals along with decorating and customized wedding planning. Her specialty casseroles, appetizers and pastries are also featured at Pinkie's Deli on South Bryant. Chef Ball invites the public for coffee, pastries and carry-out cuisine at the shop - 108 North Pierce Street.
Chef Tim Condon
Lonestar Cheeseburger & Catering Co. - Timothy W. Condon was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. At age 10, Tim started developing a love for great food in his family’s kitchen. Soon he was interning as a chef at some of Omaha’s best restaurants and country clubs. After graduating from culinary school he moved to Hawaii where he dove head first into Hawaiian Cuisine. At age 22, Tim became the Executive Chef at Paradise Cove, a 12 acre oceanfront estate located at the beautiful Ko’Olina Resort on Oahu. In early 2011, Tim opened Lonestar Cheeseburger Company, San Angelo’s first official Food Truck. Tim’s newest project is Lonestar Catering Company. After officially opening in early 2012, Lonestar Catering Company has quickly become one of San Angelo’s leading caterers.
